Boston’s Big Idea

Boston's Big IDEA (Innovation. District. Entrepreneur. Award.) is an annual contest for early-stage companies with innovative business ideas.

The mark exudes innovation and expresses the energy (and fun) that fuel the participants themselves. The logo mark took shape as an impossible contraption, complete with whirling cogs, steam whistles and plenty of buttons and levers. While the inspiration may be driven by the antiques of the industrial revolution, it was paramount to present the competition with a modern aesthetic — hence the clean lines and geometric sensibility.
